The Institute for Security and Strategic Research was founded by companies DVAgencija d.o.o. and SGB Security Consulting d.o.o. The Institute is the result of long-term cooperation between the two founders, who want to use their knowledge and experience to adress strategic security issues through the Institute.
Director
Luka Jelovčan has been involved in security management since his student years, when he participated in various research projects at the Faculty of Security Sciences. He is the author and co-author of numerous scientific research publications, and among others, he is also the youngest recipient of the Student Research Award of the Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security. He continued his career in the company SGB security consulting d.o.o., where he works as an operations director and manages projects in the field of corporate security, information security and business intelligence. He is the business director of the Institute, and in addition, he also oversees research and development projects and turnkey security projects.

Bernarda Škrabar Damnjanović is the founder and director of one of the most successful private investigator agencies in Slovenia. She began her professional career by studying at the High Police and Security School of the Ministry of the Interior, later at the Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security, where she continued her master's and later doctoral studies. She is a member of the commission for detective examinations and the first president of the commission for supervision of detectives, as well as the DPO at the Chamber of Detectives of the Republic of Slovenia. She is a recipient of the title Ambassador of Knowledge, was a TedX speaker and organizer of the International Congress of Detectives. In addition, she is the honorary dean of the Summer Detective School in Bucharest. In addition to leading the Institute's Expert Council, she participates in R&D projects, projects in the field of preventing industrial espionage and turnkey security solutions at the Institute.
President of the Council of the Institute
Aleš Tontelj is the director and founder of the company SGB Security Consulting d.o.o. He started his career as an employee of the Slovenian Police, where he was employed in various roles for 17 years. For the last 7 years, he worked as a crime investigator at the organized crime department of the Ljubljana Police Department, where he investigated terrorism, arms trafficking and cases of extreme violence. During this time, he also received training at the American FBI. In 2007 he embarked on an independent entrepreneurial path, with the establishment of the company SGB where, in addition to his directorship, he primarily works in the field of internal investigations and corporate security. He is an advocate of the development and use of innovative and advanced security solutions, which is confirmed by the series of successful projects he has carried out over the past two decades. In addition to presiding over the Council of the Institute, he is involved in projects in the field of prevention of violence, terrorism and AMOK situations and actively cooperates with the technical department of the Institute.
